Hidden within the enchanting woodland gardens of Ardkinglas Estate, the Gruffalo & Fairy Trails offer a magical adventure for families visiting Loch Fyne.
Following winding forest paths beneath towering trees, children can discover beautifully crafted Gruffalo sculptures, fairy houses, woodland creatures, and storybook scenes inspired by the much-loved children’s classic. With peaceful surroundings, gentle walks, and plenty of imagination along the way, the trails create a fun and memorable outdoor experience for visitors of all ages in the heart of Argyll’s stunning countryside.
The Gruffalo short trail uses boards showing selected extracts from the Scots version of the famous book to link the story to the setting of this special corner of the Woodland Garden. Who will you find in the woods?
The Fairy Trail is in the lower part of the Woodland, featuring charming Fairy and Elf houses nestled into the trees. The garden also features the ‘Snakey Slide ‘ a downhill adventure for older children and adults. Come and have a go!
