Welcome to Loch Fyne Pontoon & Mooring, Cairndow.
Located at the head of Loch Fyne on Scotland’s west coast, our community-run facility offers a floating pontoon and six visitor moorings, in a sheltered location with access at all states of the tide. An ideal stop for cruising, fishing, and exploring, Cairndow is surrounded by outstanding scenery, excellent food and drink, walking routes, munros, accommodation, and local attractions.
Navigation & Approach Warning
When approaching the pontoon, do not cut the corner after the point at the salmon farm. Instead, locate the white cottages situated on the shore directly opposite the pontoon and use them as your transit/directional marker for your approach. When departing the pontoon, aim for these same white cottages to ensure a safe line out into deeper water.
Tide Variations
While we are accessible at all states of the tide, the head of Loch Fyne experiences significant tide variations. Specific depth checks should be made using local Admiralty charts before arriving or leaving, paying particular attention during low spring tides.
Live Forecast
Low tide depth is 2 metres.
